Marissa joined Northside in June 2023 after moving to Columbus from Washington state and has 7 years of experience in the veterinary field. Marissa grew up telling her mom she wasnted to work with animals and started dog training as a teenager. However, she quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine when she started as a veterinary assistant at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Since then Marissa has worked in various shelters and general practices as a vet tech while continuing to promote and advocate animal welfare. When outside of work, Marissa enjoys spending time with her husband Austin and son Antonio. She has 3 fur babies- Milo, Leonidas, and Penelope. Her hobbies include hiking/backpacking, cooking/baking, Harry Potter, and listening to true crime podcasts.
