Preventative Healthcare for Cats

Incidence of infectious diseases in cats can be significantly reduced by vaccination. Our clinic follows this vaccination schedule. This schedule gives basic information on what vaccines should be given and when to provide protection to your kitten or adult cat.

Adult cats should come in yearly for a physical exam, vaccines and lab work. A monthly flea and heartworm preventive can be dispensed at this time.

As part of your cat’s annual checkup, we will give a thorough physical exam. Our physical examination will help alert you to potential problems which may occur. The physical exam, however, does not allow us to determine the overall health of the internal organs. Only a blood screening can do that. Between the age of two and six, your pet needs to have basic annual lab work. This short procedure will detect any liver & kidney problems as well as check for anemia, diabetes and infection.
